Lifelong dream of travelling the world

A lot of people dream of travelling the world. However, when it comes to taking the first steps, they ask themselves the wrong questions: “Isn’t that way to expensive?” “Won’t that ruin my career”? “How am I going to explain that to my family/friends?” “Can I even do that?”

Then again there are people who ask themselves the right question: “Actually, why not?”

An idea becomes a dream, the dream becomes a vision and finally you decide yourself and make a plan. Whether you just thought about that ridiculous idea once and realized you actually like it, or you already ask yourself if you should travel your route alone or with friends, you will find some tips here.

Planning your trip is usually a lot of fun, while organizing can be pretty frustrating. Little of us want to deal with topics like insurance, visa and all that officialism. Anyhow, it has to be done unless you want to end up getting rejected at the border, or remember that your cat is still locked in the basement while you are having fun in Uzbekistan.

A topic that gets underestimated a lot. It’s not fun to carry a 20 kg backpack, suffering at every step. Especially when you realize that the traveller next to you is carrying a 8 kg backpack and still has everything he/she needs. Find out what you should take with you and what better stays at home.

During your travels you will make a lot of mistakes. That’s totally fine, since that’s how we learn and inevitable anyway. It might even lead to one of your best stories. There is no need to make every single one though. I can’t write about every single little thing to consider, but the most important subjects will be covered.

In the end,
we only regret the chances we didn’t take
and the decisions we waited to long to make.
